If you thought golfing with golf recruits on an official golf visit is okay with the NCAA, think again.

One of them included three men’s golf recruits getting in trouble for playing a round of golf while on an official visit:https://t.co/4DPbmuaKkp via @clarionledger

Because a round of golf cost $150, Mississippi State recruits who played for free on an official visit were required to donate $90, the amount exceeding the NCAA’s $60 entertainment limit, to charity.
The asinine ruling from the NCAA had the Internet up in arms.
I feel like there’s a middle ground between “not allowing golf recruits to play golf” and “letting NBA players go back and play college basketball while making 100k in NIL money” but idk

Yeah I know…I couldn’t believe there was a golf course in Mississippi worth $150/round either.

With all the issues going on in college sports, we’re glad the NCAA was able to catch the golf recruits overspending on green fees!
