The Troy Trojans will be without a veteran quarterback for the rest of the season.

Junior quarterback Goose Crowder is done for the 2024 season. After he took command this season at QB, his season won’t continue past the month of October.

The Trojans announced Crowder’s status with a lengthy post on X.

“Troy junior quarterback Goose Crowder will miss the remainder of the 2024 season at the advice of Troy’s medical team,” the Trojans said. “The health and well-being of Troy’s student-athletes will always be at the forefront of all decisions regarding their return to competition.”

Crowder began his collegiate career a West Virginia in 2021. He had limited action with WVU though, having played only three games in two seasons. That spurred him to transfer to Troy, where he appeared in all 14 games last season. This year, he played in four, throwing for 542 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

It’s a disappointing end for Crowder. He may still have eligibility left to go next season, but for now, he can only hope to heal up and achieve a great quality of life.

For the Trojans, it’s likely Tucker Kilcrease and Matthew Caldwell will be at quarterback the rest of the way.
