The bad news seemingly never ends for the Florida State Seminoles.
Already amid a 1-9 season that has seen just about everything that could go wrong end up going wrong, head coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles were dealt another blow Thursday when 2025 four-star quarterback Tramell Jones announced he was de-committing from the program and would be looking elsewhere.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported the news Thursday morning.
BREAKING: Four-Star QB Tramell Jones Jr. has Decommitted from Florida State, he tells me for @on3recruits

As Fawcett notes, Jones had been committed to the Seminoles since April 2023. The program was in a very different place then, as they were coming off a ten-win 2022 season with high hopes for 2023, which infamously saw the Seminoles finish 13-1 after a College Football Playoff snub believed to be the result of an injury to starting quarterback Jordan Travis.
Jones’ de-commitment continues an alarming trend for Norvell and the Seminoles. The quarterback is the sixth player to de-commit from FSU’s class of 2025 since the season starter.
Jones is already setting up visits as teams are lining up to try to make a late quarterback addition. He will be at Florida’s game against Ole Miss this Saturday per On3.
