As Syracuse basketball barrels toward a fifth straight season without an NCAA Tournament bid, fans are longing for the days when the Orange were a perennial contender in March.

In legendary Coach Jim Boeheim’s tenure (1976-2023), Syracuse made 35 trips to the NCAA Tournament, including five Final Four appearances, and a national championship in 2003.
A move to the ACC, Boeheim’s retirement, and new coach Adrian Autry’s struggle to win big games have left the once loyal Orange fans begging for a drastic change.
On Wednesday night, the Orange played before a half-empty JMA Wireless Dome. Despite winning for just the second time in the last eight games, it was hard to celebrate considering what has become of the program.
The downfall of Syracuse basketball post Boeheim is sad to watch.
The Carrier Dome ACC home basketball games used to mean something. Some of the most insane CBB atmospheres I’ve seen are in that arena.
I know the fans still care but this is rough.

Takes a special kind of stupidity. arrogance and greed to wreck a brand like Syracuse basketball.
All traded for a better football seat at the ACC table. Hope the checks were worth it. Because in chasing football money, you stripped the soul from a platinum basketball program.… pic.twitter.com/vjhKerETga

I legit cannot believe this really happened. If you would’ve showed someone this ten years ago they would’ve thought the literal apocalypse happened https://t.co/dhfBl3BEHU

Syracuse fans deserve better, so what will the powers that be do to bring Syracuse basketball back to the promised land?
