Lou Holtz lived and breathed Notre Dame. He will now be forever laid to rest alongside another Notre Dame legend on the hallowed grounds where they became college football icons.
How fitting that Lou Holtz will rest at Notre Dame, in Cedar Grove Cemetery — the same sacred ground that holds his wife, Beth, and the great Knute Rockne.
Lou gave everything to this university, and now he’ll forever be part of it.
And you can’t convince me he won’t be with… pic.twitter.com/6GcHzqPVKO— CathVSConf☘️ (@CathVSConf) March 7, 2026
Knute Rockne, who led Notre Dame to 100+ wins and three National Championships in the 1920’s, is known as the man who created Notre Dame’s legendary status. Holtz is the man who revived it.
He will hear every win and all the Championships that the IRISH WILL WIN!!!! RIP COACH☘️🙏☘️🙏☘️🙏☘️🙏☘️🙏

Both legends will share the same final resting spot on the campus they helped make great.
