Syracuse Basketball Legend Back In NCAA Tournament As Head Coach

Gerry McNamara’s March legacy continues to grow 20 years after his iconic performance as a player.

In year two at Siena, McNamara has the Saints tournament-bound after defeating Merrimack in the MAAC Conference Championship. It’s been 16 years since Siena last went dancing.

With Siena focused on the Tournament, an interesting opportunity might await McNamara at the end of the season.

With quick success at Siena and his legacy as an all-time Syracuse great, it makes a lot of sense for a struggling Syracuse program to rebuild its identity with someone like McNamara at the helm.

McNamara may only have one chance to make a run with Siena before he’s on to his next opportunity.

How far will the Saints go?
