Belichick, who is currently the head coach at the University of North Carolina and was surprisingly snubbed from the 2026 Hall of Fame class in his first year of eligibility, did not attend the ceremony. Vinatieri addressed the absence directly.

The legendary New England Patriots kicker was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday and took a dig at his old coach during the induction speech.
It’s wild to see the greatest head coach in NFL history become a punchline in college; however, Vinatieri did praise Belichick, calling him “the greatest coach of all time.”
