Dallas Cowboys Legend Becomes Oklahoma Sooners TE Coach

Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten is crossing the Red River to become Oklahoma’s new tight end coach.

Witten is an 11-time Pro Bowler who played for the Cowboys from 2013-17 and returned in 2019 after a disastrous one-year stint as a “Monday Night Football” analyst.

Witten has been serving as the high school football head coach of Liberty Christian School outside Dallas since 2021. Witten’s son, Cooper, is a linebacker on the team and one of the top high school players in America for the Class of 2027.

In Norman, Witten will be reunited with his old Cowboys teammate, DeMarco Murray, who is the Sooners RB coach.

The only piece missing on Oklahoma’s coaching staff is Tony Romo leaving the broadcast booth to become OU’s QB coach.
