Former FCS WR Ryan Coogler Wins First Academy Award

Former Sacramento State WR Ryan Coogler added some hardware to his trophy case on Sunday night.

Coogler, who won his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for “Sinners,” was a solid receiver for the Hornets, posting 1,213 yards on 112 receptions with 6 touchdowns over three full seasons.

While his football career with the Hornets is impressive, his filmography is next level: “Creed,” “Black Panther,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Sinners,” and more, as a producer.

From the FCS to the red carpet, Ryan Coogler has dominated all facets of his life.
