UCLA Head Coach Rips Big Ten For Scheduling

Upsetting No. 4 Purdue 69-67 on Tuesday night wasn’t enough to put UCLA head coach and noted curmudgeon Mick Cronin in a good mood.

After the game, the Bruins’ head coach ripped into the Big Ten Conference for scheduling 5 of UCLA’s first 7 games on the road and playing Purdue on just two days rest.

He later added: “I don’t think they care about basketball. Truly. That’s just my opinion.”

This isn’t the first time Cronin has sounded off on the Big Ten’s scheduling, as the Bruins are forced to travel from coast-to-coast since joining the league in 2024 from the Pac-12.
One year ago, Cronin blasted the league for the amount of East Coast trips the Bruins are forced to make.

It turns out putting UCLA and Rutgers in the same conference isn’t such a great idea for the players and coaches who actually have to do the travel.
