UConn Huskies superstar Paige Bueckers had a busy offseason this year. Her “world tour” took over social media, highlighting the star women’s basketball player in ways away from the hardwood.
But Bueckers is still focused, don’t worry.
On Thursday, Bueckers talked to reporters after practice. She had a lot to say during the media session and revealed what some UConn greats, like Breanna Stewart as one reporter named, told her this offseason.
On the advice she received from UConn legends this offseason, Bueckers told reporters they said, “They really just told me to enjoy it. Embrace it. There’s a lot of pressure that can come with not getting a title at UConn and throwing everything into this one year. But take it day by day, step by step. Continue listening to coach, have fun and enjoy it.”
The Huskies star knows all about playing under pressure and high expectations. In the star-studded 2020 recruiting class, Bueckers ranked first, ahead of the likes of Cameron Brink, Angel Reese, and the one and only Caitlin Clark.
Time will tell to see how this final season in Storrs goes for Bueckers and UConn. The Huskies once again will go into the college basketball season expected to contend for a National Championship.
