“Baby Gronk” Now Starring For 8th Grade Football Team

Remember “Baby Gronk”?

The viral Pop Warner sensation who took social media by storm is back in the spotlight, this time for what he’s doing on the football field.

Madden San Miguel, better known as “Baby Gronk,” is now in eighth grade and already looks the part of the next great pass catcher. In his middle school team’s season opener, San Miguel delivered a performance that would make the original Gronk proud, racking up 250 total yards and scoring four touchdowns.

For years, San Miguel has been one of the most recognizable young football players on social media. His highlight videos, training clips, and rather unique personality helped make him a viral sensation at an incredibly young age. But now, it appears the hype may be backed by legitimate football talent.

San Miguel is a member of the Class of 2031 and plays wide receiver in Denton, Texas, just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area. While there is still a long way to go before he reaches the college level, his latest performance is another reminder of why so many people have been paying attention to his development.

The attention surrounding “Baby Gronk” has certainly been unusual for a player his age, but performances like this make it easier to understand why his name continues to circulate. Before we know it, San Miguel will be entering high school and, eventually, college football.

The question is no longer whether “Baby Gronk” can generate attention. It’s whether he can continue turning that attention into production on the field.
