The former Alabama All-American and 12-year NFL veteran rejoined the Crimson Tide staff this offseason. He now uses high-tech protective gear to provide players with a realistic, live target while shielding himself from the team’s powerful linemen.
Covered with numbered target zones on his chest, shoulders, and biceps, the suit serves as a mobile practice device for precise striking and hand placement drills.
Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack mentioned that Johnson is a very hands-on, technically skilled teacher who still enjoys being involved on the field.
