The Missouri Tigers may be without a crucial piece to the puzzle this weekend against mighty Alabama. In pouring salt in the wound after learning the status of another key player, quarterback Brady Cook appeared on Wednesday’s injury report.

During the Tigers’ Homecoming game against the Auburn Tigers, Cook sustained an injury. He gutted through it, battled back, and helped the Tigers win. But it seems that some damage was done.

“QB Brady Cook, TB Nate Noel, and WR Mookie Cooper are all doubtful,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel noted on X.

While he’s had fans be critical of his play at times, there’s no denying what Cook brings to the table. Without him, the Tigers are at a disadvantage from an experience standpoint. Especially when you consider they’ll be on the road in Alabama this weekend.

This season, Cook’s thrown for 1,545 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He has 46 career passing touchdowns at Mizzou.

Without that experience, the Tigers may falter against a Crimson Tide team that’s proven vulnerable over the past few weeks. They’ve earned losses to both Vanderbilt and Tennessee just this past weekend. We’ll see how his absence affects the Tigers. It also doesn’t help that Noel is doubtful for the game as well.

Drew Pyne will likely step in for Cook if he can’t play against Alabama.
