Southern California women’s basektball star Juju Watkins is one of the best players in America. On Friday, Watkins made USC program history in scintillating style.
Watkins earned her 1,000th career point in USC’s 81-50 win over the Santa Clara Broncos. In doing so, she became the fastest Trojan player to reach 1,000 career points. It merely took her 38 career games.
USC boasted about the epic accomplishment online with a celebratory post on X.

Don’t expect Watkins or USC to go away anytime soon. The Trojans have one of the top women’s basketball teams in the nation this year. They have a huge game scheduled later this nonconference season against powerhouse UConn. Paige Bueckers and Watkins are two of America’s best basketball players. That epic showdown will be one to watch for all fans. Not just those who have loyalties to either squad.
Watkins likely isn’t done setting records at USC either. She also might not be done making program history either. The USC women haven’t won a National Championship in basketball in thirty years. If Watkins gets even better with the Trojan cast around her, it’s very possible that they could cut down the nets this spring.
But there’s plenty more season to go. For now, congratulations to one of the sport’s top players.
