This weekend, Florida and LSU will renew their longstanding Southeastern Conference rivalry. The reeling Tigers will face a Florida team looking to get something right. Fortunately for Florida, DJ Lagway will be a go. The Gators are expected to start the young quarterback this weekend against the LSU Tigers in their rivalry tussle.
Florida head coach Billy Napier confirmed Lagway’s status on Thursday.
“On coaches show on WRUF, Florida football coach Billy Napier says QB DJ Lagway will be back for LSU,” writer Kevin Brockway wrote on X.

Lagway subbed in for the injured Graham Mertz, who had an injury several weeks ago that required season-ending surgery. Lagway missed last week’s game against Texas, but the Gator quarterback is ready to go against the FIghting Tigers this week.
The Gators will look to beat a reeling LSU team that lost to Alabama last weekend at Tiger Stadium. The Crimson Tide rolled to victory, sending LSU into a bit of a spin. Saturday will be crucial for the Tigers if they want to stay in the SEC race. And on the other end of the spectrum, Florida would surely like to beat their rivals and effectively end their season.
This has always been an intense game, and Saturday’s game should be no different especially since Lagway will be playing for Florida.
