The Tennessee Volunteers addressed some scandalous allegations on Monday. Following the Vols’ huge win over the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend, it seems allegations of fake crowd noise in Neyland Stadium surfaced.
X user Rob Harvey posted a video from inside the booth with Alabama commentators speculating that they pumped in crowd noise at Neyland.
“They also pipe in crowd noise, as well,” they said.

Tennessee athletic director Danny White later responded to those concerns with an emphatic statement.
No, we don’t! Just 100K+ beautiful, booming, Big Orange voices! #GBO 🍊 https://t.co/ygDuwTUrBI

“Fake crowd noise” is one of those things that, when it’s found to be a reality, is often very embarrassing. In this case, you wonder if some sour grapes were involved. But there’s no definitive proof that exists that Tennessee installs artificial sound inside Neyland Stadium.
It’s safe to say that this “scandal” may prove to be short-lived. For now, Tennessee and Alabama have their own concerns to worry about. The Vols scored an important win over the rival Crimson Tide this weekend, and it’s one that could send ‘Bama further down the chute. Tennessee will hit the bye week before playing the Kentucky Wildcats next on November 2. It’s at Neyland, so expect to hear real and clear sounds.
