The Ole Miss Rebels just made history. For the first time in their men’s golf program’s history, the Rebels are at the top of the polls.
The Rebels just announced that their men’s golf team now ranks No. 1 in the polls for the first time in program history.
They boasted this historic achievement on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

“For the first time in program history, the Ole Miss Rebels are ranked No. 1,” they said, using a raised-finger emoji to signify their top billing.
On Monday, the Rebels won at the 2024 Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. The then-second-ranked Rebels may not have realized they were then on the verge of a historic standing for the program. This wrapped up fall play for the sport and they earned back-to-back victories, according to the athletic program, for the first time in eight years.
Their No. 1 ranking certainly shows a strong level of growth in a non-revenue sport, which is always grand to see. It’s the end of the season, which may make the ranking even sweeter. They raced to the top and got to the top at the very end when it mattered most.
