The Auburn Tigers have had no shortage of quarterback struggles this season.

Senior signal-caller Payton Thorne has thrown an SEC-worst six interceptions, and backup Hank Brown has three picks of his own.

While the Tigers’ bowl game chances are increasingly uncertain this season, there is hope on the horizon.

Four-star 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight, who had been committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish since 2023, de-committed from the program and committed to Auburn on Wednesday night, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Knight confirmed the news on his X account.

The quarterback’s interest in Auburn and vice versa wasn’t surprising. Knight, a dual-threat quarterback, is from Lucedale, Mississippi, in the heart of SEC Country.

Justin Ferguson reports that if and when Knight signs, he’ll be the third-highest-ranked quarterback commit in Auburn history behind Bo Nix and Jason Campbell.

Notre Dame is now expected to be very active in recruiting 2025 quarterbacks.
