The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are poised to do big things in 2024. After falling in last year’s SEC Championship Game to Alabama, Georgia is ready to take back the crown. The Dawgs won the 2021 and 2022 College Football Playoffs, so a National Title win this season would give them three championships in four years.
So naturally, with that comes high expectations. In a revamped Southeastern Conference, more competition awaits the Bulldogs. But on the other end, the Bulldogs also await their new competition. The Solid Verbal‘s Ty Hildebrandt can’t see UGA getting too stymied this year.
“Georgia is not losing two road games,” Hildebrandt told college football reporter Andy Staples on his show via On3. “They’re not losing two road games.”
But with that said, Hildebrandt isn’t entirely bullish on the Dawgs going undefeated. He said there are “plenty of landmines and opportunities” for the Bulldogs to lose, but he doubts it’ll happen on the road.
Hildebrandt pointed to returning production, or a lack thereof, as to why Georgia could slip once. But twice?
“I could see Georgia dropping one, but I think there is just too much organization around that program,” he said. “Too much talent on the depth chart that I’m going to sit here today and lose two on the road.”
Georgia will play road games at Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss. Three of those teams are currently ranked in the Top 10. But even with that ahead of them, the Bulldogs are unlikely to fall too often.
