The Georgia Bulldogs head into the 2024 in a similar place to where they’ve been since Kirby Smart was hired before the 2016 season.

Georgia is ranked first in the 2024 preseason AP Top 25 poll released Monday and betting favorites to win both the SEC and College Football Playoff.

However, it hasn’t been all good news for Georgia in the past few days. On Sunday, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that 2025 four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett would be de-committing from the Bulldogs.

As Fawcett notes, Garrett is a top-five defensive lineman in the 2025 On300, On3 recruit rankings.

Garrett, who also competes in track and field events, is from Bogart, Georgia,  a town just 15 miles outside of Athens and 60 miles from Atlanta. Before committing to Georgia in June 2024, Garrett had interest and offers from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Tennessee Volunteers, Clemson Tigers, and more.
