The Alabama Crimson Tide took care of business over the weekend with an eye-popping 42-13 against the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Alabama’s victory pushed the team one step closer to making it back to Atlanta for the SEC Championship and potentially representing the conference in the College Football Playoff.
With games against Mercer, Oklahoma, and Auburn remaining, the Tide should be heavily favored in all three. However, it’s not all good news for the squad.
On Monday, first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed that senior linebacker Que Robinson would be done for the season after suffering an elbow injury in the win over LSU.
“Just a special, special person in every way. I hate to see a guy who pours so much into it going through what he’s going through. The one thing, when I think about Que, it’s not just what he does on the field, but pre-practice he’s mentoring and doing things for other guys. He just cares so much about this team and cares so much about this place,” DeBoer said Monday via ESPN.
Robinson, a redshirt senior, has played a pivotal role on Alabama’s defense this season. He is tied with Jihaad Campbell for Alabama’s team lead in sacks with four, and his seven tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries are second on the team.
Redshirt freshmen Qua Russaw and Yohnzae Pierre are expected to see an increase in playing time as they fill in for Robinson.
