The Texas Longhorns play their final home game of the season this weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats. It’s Senior Day, so it’ll be a big day in Austin. Will it be the final time Quinn Ewers plays at DKR? Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian wouldn’t say yet.

Sarkisian’s Longhorns have one final test before renewing their dormant rivalry with Texas A&M. With the Wildcats coming to town, Sark spoke about the scene around Texas football this week. Sarkisian discussed his quarterback Ewers and whether he felt it could be the final time he plays at home.

“No idea,” Sarkisian said via On3 on the subject. Fair enough.

Ewers has had a celebrated career at Texas. The former Ohio State transfer led the Longhorns to a Big 12 Championship last season and a College Football Playoff appearance. The Longhorns appear to be on the verge of making the CFP again. But they have some work to do, and may need some help if they drop a game down the way.

Needless to say, they’ll need to be at 100 percent capacity in their final two weeks. A potential spot in the SEC Championship Game hangs in the balance. What Texas does in their final two games will prove pivotal in deciding their future.

It could ultimately help decide Ewers‘ future too.
