In a blend between college football and “Game of Thrones,” a brilliant Redditor going by the handle of “nbingham196” came up with a “College Football Imperialism Map” in which teams are treated as empires and they grow or shrink depending on wins and losses.
As explained in the game’s official rules:
If a team is beaten their land is taken by the team that beat them. Teams will keep their land until beaten by another team, then all land will be passed to the new winner. For example, Oregon State lost to Colorado State in week 0. Colorado State then lost to Colorado in week 1. Therefore Colorado owns Colorado State’s land and Oregon State’s land. FCS were not originally included, but can win their way on to the map. Territory awarded based on distance from each school to the geographic center of the counties it is closest to.
This will be awesome to see updated on a weekly basis as the season progresses.
