While their regular season is set to get underway next Saturday against the Furman Paladins, the Ole Miss Rebels made a familiar addition to their coaching staff Sunday.
Chris Kiffin, the younger brother of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, will join the Ole Miss staff as an analyst.
ESPN’s Chris Low first reported the news on Sunday afternoon.
The Kiffin brothers are back together. Chris is joining older brother Lane as an analyst at @OleMissFB. Chris was Lane’s DC at FAU in 2017 and spent the past six years in the NFL. Kiffin continues to accumulate a wealth of experience, both NFL and college, on his staff.

As Low notes, the Kiffins last worked together in 2017 with the Florida Atlantic University Owls. Chris was Lane’s defensive coordinator for a season before heading to the NFL for stops with the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans.
Chris Kiffin also served as a graduate assistant at Ole Miss for Ed Orgeron during the ill-fated 2007 season which saw Ole Miss go winless in SEC play and 3-9 overall, leading to Orgeron’s termination.
Ole Miss enters the 2024 season with sky-high expectations after going 11-2 and winning the Peach Bowl last season. The Rebels are ranked sixth in the preseason AP Poll, marking their highest preseason ranking since 1970.
