The Florida State Seminoles are in a complete freefall so far in the 2024 season.

After a stunning 24-21 week zero loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin, the Seminoles were looking to get back on track and right the ship in their Labor Day evening home opener against the Boston College Eagles.

Unfortunately for FSU, that game went even worse than the game in Dublin, as Boston College rolled to a 28-13 win and send the ‘Noles into an 0-2 start both overall and in ACC play. Facing a two-game conference deficit this early in the season has led ESPN’s Paul Finebaum to declare the season over for the 2024 Seminoles.

“This season is over. I know that sounds like I’m going crazy. I’m not. This is a team that we were told deserved to be in the playoffs last year and certainly were going to be in the playoffs this year and they’re not going to. They can’t do anything right. They can’t go anywhere,” Finebaum said Tuesday morning on ESPN’s Get Up via On3.

Finebaum expanded on his point, saying that the Seminoles’ current record of 0-2 means they won’t have the opportunity for big wins, especially if they can’t even beat Georgia Tech and Boston College.

“These are not even big games on Florida State’s schedule. They have blown both of them. They’re in the ACC, which means they need to win that league at this point to get an automatic bid or even into the playoff. They’re not going to.”
