The Washington Huskies started their new era with a bang on Saturday, cruising to a 35-3 home victory over the Weber State Wildcats.
The game marked the Washington debut of new head coach Jedd Fisch, along with new quarterback Will Rogers, who transferred to the school from the Mississippi State Bulldogs over the offseason and new running back Jonah Coleman who followed Fisch from the Arizona Wildcats and rushed for three touchdowns.
There was also a bizarre play early on. Midway through the second quarter, Rogers found tight end Quentin Moore for a 14-yard completion. Moore was tackled by Weber State linebacker Garrett Beck and was injured on the play. Beck, however, didn’t appear to be on the field when the ball was snapped. It appeared Weber State had 10 players on the field. Beck sprinted in from the sideline to give the team 11 and make the tackle.
The guy who makes the tackle in this clip runs in from the sideline and the tackle resulted in an injury for the player. Crazy.

Moore missed the rest of the game and is expected to be out of action for a couple of weeks. Washington has sent the footage to the Big Ten citing a missed illegal substitution call.
The Huskies return to action Saturday when they host the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
