For ages, college football has been recognized in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Over the years, the poll has been scrutinized, especially the preseason edition. Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt seemingly has seen enough of the poll if his words this week are any indication.

Klatt has been outspoken about his feelings on the poll in the past. To put it mildly, Klatt doesn’t like the poll. And once again this week, the Fox college football analyst and personality voiced his displeasure over the ‘garbage’ AP Top 25.

Klatt took aim at the poll while discussing Friday night’s scheduled Big Ten opener between the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Although the Cornhuskers and Illini are both ranked, Klatt still doesn’t think highly of the poll, which he believes has done a “disservice” to the Huskers.

“Now, Nebraska is an 8.5-point favorite,” Klatt said. “Which suggests, and I’m all here for it, the AP voters have done a complete disservice to Nebraska.

“The AP poll is terrible,” Klatt emphatically said. “It is garbage. Stop looking at the AP poll,” he encouraged. “They have no idea what they’re doing.”

The Fox analyst tore up AP poll voters, arguing that they never adjust off their preconceived notions. He argues Nebraska is “much better” than the 22nd-ranked team.

It’s safe to say that Klatt will continue to use and boast his own rankings as opposed to the ones the Associated Press boasts.
