The Missouri Tigers are one of college football’s best teams this season. They went 2-0 in their first two games and jumped to No. 6 in the AP Poll, their highest ranking since 2013.
Since joining the SEC in 2012, Mizzou has been renovating Faurot Field in stages. First, it added roughly 6,000 seats before completely renovating the south end zone’s concourses, restrooms, club level, team facilities, and more. That renovation cost $89 million and was completed before the 2019 season.
On Thursday, the school’s board of curators approved a $250 million plan to renovate the north end zone, set to break ground on November 30 following Mizzou’s regular-season finale against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The project is set to add a multilevel concourse and premium seating to the north side of the stadium and will drastically reduce the footprint of the hill and “Rock M” that currently sit behind the end zone.
“Our significant investments demonstrate our resolve to being highly competitive in the SEC and match our drive for global competitiveness across the entire university. This project will ensure that Memorial Stadium remains a source of pride for all Missourians and the greater Mizzou family for years to come,” board chair Robin Wenneker said via ESPN.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the stadium’s centennial season in 2026.
Mizzou will look to improve to 3-0 when they host the No. 24 Boston College Eagles this Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET.
