The Florida State Seminoles are off to a historically bad start. That’s not just bluster, either. They joined exclusive company after Saturday’s soul-crushing defeat to the Memphis Tigers. But for the wrong reasons.
FSU dropped to 0-3 with its loss to Memphis. After losing to Georgia Tech and Boston College, the Seminoles’ situation worsened.
FSU became the first program in Associated Press history that began a season Top 10 and went 0-3. Not only that, it’s the first time it’s happened against all unranked teams.
Brandon Marcello posted, “Florida State is the first team in AP poll history to start a season in Top 10 and go 0-3 with all 3 losses to unranked team. FSU is 0-3 for only the third time in history and the second time under Mike Norvell.”

It’s gone from bad to worse to historically inept for FSU in a very short time. Last season, FSU had an undefeated season but the College Football Playoff committee snubbed them. What’s worse perhaps for the ‘Noles is that no matter the difference between this year and last, they’ll be mocked endlessly for this after crowing about their exclusion from the CFP last year.
