Star Utah quarterback Cam Rising missed the first two weeks of the 2024 college football season due to injury. Ahead of Week 3, it appears the Utes quarterback might be on his way back.
The Utes begin their first season of Big 12 play this week against Oklahoma State. Their star quarterback Rising is currently not scheduled to play on Saturday.
But ahead of the matchup against the Pokes, ESPN’s Pete Thamel provided an optimism-inducing update on Rising. He noted that he appeared at practice, which was a positive sign.
“So everything is pushing towards Cam Rising playing in Stillwater on Saturday,” he said on College Football Live via On3.
Head coach Kyle Whittingham told Carlin & Joe on ESPN Radio Wednesday that Rising‘s status was “day-to-day,” but hope to make a final decision on Friday for the Big 12 opener against the Pokes.
Speaking with Utah HC Kyle Whittingham on @CarlinvsJoe, he says QB Cam Rising is “day-to-day” but back at practice. They hope to make a final decision Friday regarding his status for Saturday’s game at Oklahoma State.

The Utah quarterback has been in Salt Lake City for quite some time. Utes fans have grown to love him, and seeing as this is likely his last season in college football, they’ll celebrate him grandly when he finally sees the field again.
