The Colorado Buffaloes won their Big 12 opener in what turned out to be a late-night thriller. Shedeur Sanders completed a Hail Mary with time expiring to tie the game, and the Buffaloes later won the game in overtime.

The exciting finish, in which Travis Hunter forced a fumble that went out of the end zone, had fans marveling late Saturday night. Colorado, whether you love them or hate them, gets the people talking. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum couldn’t help himself talking about the Buffaloes and their thrilling victory on Sunday morning’s edition of SportsCenter.

“I am in,” an excited Finebaum said via On3. “We’re not talking about a football team. We’re talking about a legitimate reality show.”

Finebaum heralded the Buffaloes as “the most exciting thing on television.”

“I mean, this was made for Hollywood,” he said via On3. “It’s hard even to believe. I mean, the percentage of making this, of Colorado winning the game, was under 1 percent on the final play, and they still managed to do it.

“But then again, Coach Prime is in charge,” Finebaum said. And in this case, you have to hand it to them.

Colorado’s late-night thriller surely got a lot of people watching and a lot of people talking. That’s just the way it goes for them right now. For better or worse, they have a place in college football, and they’re doing quite well in it.

Next week, Colorado will continue their first season back in the Big 12. They’ll play the UCF Knights, another newcomer, down in Orlando. So the Travis Hunter Show will head back to his home state. It should be a fascinating time.
