Rece Davis wants Cal fans to show up and show out this weekend.
The California Golden Bears host the Top 10-ranked Miami Hurricanes this weekend. In a matchup between two schools and programs with totally different ideals, the Golden Bears and Hurricanes will meet in a coveted matchup. College GameDay will head to Cal for the very first time in the program’s history.
Davis, the host of GameDay, wants to see a lot of blue and yellow.
“People are doubting you,” Davis said, addressing Cal fans. “They say you won’t show up. They say you don’t know big-time college football. I say-you know it. Tell the story. You tell the whole damn world this is Bear territory,” he added.
“Accept the challenge. Sturdy Golden Bears. See you Saturday,” Davis closed.

Davis’ call-out of the Golden Bears fanbase will likely have a positive effect. Fortunately for them, Cal’s not really a program that’s ever drawn the ire of ESPN. So the fans, if their online presence is enough, are certainly listening.
It’s been a minute since Cal’s played competitive football, but it’s not unheard of. In the last quarter century, Cal’s been home to some of the NFL’s best. Marshawn Lynch, Aaron Rodgers, DeSean Jackson, and many more have come through Berkeley.
We’ll see how Cal responds to this call-out this Saturday.
