The Mountain West Conference continues to look for more options to add o their league after several departures to the Pac-12. It appears they’re zeroing in on another target. The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are in the Mountain West’s sight according to a new report on Thursday.
Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported on the developments on Thursday morning.
“Mountain West is in discussions w/ Hawaii about the school joining the league as a full member,” McMurphy reported. He notes that Hawaii football is a football member in the Mountain West, but in order to gain full FBS status, they’ll have to convert the Rainbow Warriors into a full-time member.

Time will tell to see if this is the next domino to fall in this lengthy new run for conference realignment. It’s clear this run of activity is nearing its end, but for now, the windy road continues.
