The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Washington Huskies on Saturday. In scoring that win, Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz achieved a milestone. Ferentz earned his 200th career victory at the school, padding his lead as the program’s all-time leader.

The Hawkeyes’ coach earned the win via a 40-16 defeat over the Huskies. Kaleb Johnson ran wild in the victory and the defense stood tall against the visiting Dawgs.

“Kirk Ferentz is recognized for what will momentarily be his 200th career win at Iowa,” John Steppe noted during the game.

Ferentz is Iowa’s all-time leader in wins in program history. He passed Hayden Fry several years ago for first all-time and it will take a lot for someone to surpass this mark. While he has his marks against him, Ferentz is the definitive coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes, a place he’s been at since even before the 21st century. He began his career at Iowa in 1999, and doesn’t appear to be ready to slow down there yet.

College football fans and Iowa alumni helped celebrate the milestone achievement for Ferentz after the clock hit zero. A hats off to him for this achievement, another in a long line for the longtime coach.
