Alabama Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia (2) calls out his cadence against the Alabama Crimson Tide during their game at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024.

The Vanderbilt Commodores and quarterback Diego Pavia are having an incredible few weeks.

First, the ‘Dores fell just short in an upset bid against then-No. 9 Missouri, losing 30-27 in overtime in Columbia on September 21.

Then, following a bye, the Commodores came back with a vengeance, picking off the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, 40-35, for the biggest win in school history. Vanderbilt was previously 0-60 all-time against teams ranked in the top 5 of the AP Poll before upsetting Kalen DeBoer and the Tide.

The Commodores kept their winning streak going, pulling off another upset and defeating the Kentucky Wildcats, 20-13, to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Pavia has been as vital to Vanderbilt’s success as any player on the team, going a combined 31-for-38 for 395 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and one interception in the two wins. The quarterback also added 99 rushing yards across the two victories, extending plays and opening up the offense.

Sunday night, Pavia took to X to send a plea to EA Sports to raise his rating in College Football 25.

The game’s last roster update came at the beginning of October, before Pavia and Vanderbilt defeated Alabama and Kentucky. It’s unclear when the next update will drop, but Pavia can almost certainly expect to see his numbers go up, especially if the quarterback continues to play well.
