The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets face a huge issue going into the weekend. Georgia Tech will have to make a change at quarterback due to an injury their starter sustained.
Yellow Jackets quarterback Haynes King suffered what’s been considered a “upper-body injury” and because of that, he’ll miss the team’s game this weekend against 12th-ranked Notre Dame.
“Georgia Tech will be without star quarterback Haynes King against No. 12 Notre Dame this weekend, giving veteran back-up Zach Pyron his third career start,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel said. “King has been ‘day-to-day’ with an upper-body injury.”

King stands out with a 71.2 percent mark in completion percentage this season. The former Aggie quarterback has also thrown for 1,568 yards, eight touchdowns, and only one interception.
Last season, King threw for 27 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in his first season with the Yellow Jackets. He obviously had improved on the interceptions, but this nagging injury may prevent further improvements.
Zach Pyron will get the nod against a feisty Notre Dame team. Any loss for the Irish may impact their College Football Playoff aspirations. Tech could still provide a challenge with Pyron, but it may be more difficult than it would have been otherwise.
