Kennesaw State

The college football world celebrated a massive upset on Wednesday night! The Kennesaw State Owls defeated the Liberty Flames, making program history.

The Owls were 0-6 entering the game Wednesday night. But they’re winless no more. Their win was the first-ever victory for the team against a team on the FBS level. They transitioned up the ladder this year, and after several unsuccessful tries, the seventh was the charm.

“0-6 Kennesaw State, a 27-point underdog, stuns 5-0 Liberty for its first ever win vs. an FBS team,” ESPN’s College Football account noted.

Quarterback Davis Bryson went 16 for 20 for 189 yards and a passing touchdown in the historic win. The Owls scored two rushing touchdowns, one by Michael Benefield and the other by Qua Ashley. Christian Moss scored the lone receiving touchdown of the night.

Fans capped off their historic win and incredible night by storming the field. We’ll see if the Sun Belt decides to punish the Owls with a fine, but it will be worth it in the end. Even on a Wednesday night in October, someone’s out there making magic happen in college football. In this case, it was the Kennesaw State Owls.

The college football world was buzzing over the massive upset after it went down.
