The Miami Hurricanes have answered every call so far en route to their 8-0 start to the season.
Miami is up to No. 5 in the AP Poll after their 36-14 win over the Florida State Seminoles over the weekend, and quarterback Cameron Ward remains one of the top contenders for the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
While 2024 is looking like it could be a historic year for the Hurricanes, who haven’t won a national championship since 2001, the future may be even brighter for the squad.
Sunday night, 2026 four-star cornerback Camdin Portis from Charlotte, North Carolina became the third member of head coach Mario Cristobal’s 2026 recruiting class.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett had the news first.
BREAKING: Four-Star CB Camdin Portis (2026) has Committed to Miami, he tells me for @on3recruits

As Fawcett notes, Portis is the son of former Miami Hurricanes and NFL running back Clinton Portis, who played on the 2001 national championship Hurricanes squad. He was a two-time NFL Pro Bowler and spent nine seasons in the league, rushing for nearly 10,000 yards.
Camdin Portis chose the ‘Canes over the Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, and others.
Ultimately, the opportunity to continue his father’s legacy in Coral Gables was seemingly too much for the younger Portis to pass up.
The Hurricanes will return to action on November 2 and will look to improve their record to 9-0 when they host the Duke Blue Devils.
