Paige Bueckers is a name you’ll hear far and wide this year. The UConn star is set to be college basketball’s latest big sensation. Bueckers has seen this stage and has succeeded in the past few years. After all, the former top-ranked recruit won the National Player of the Year award three years ago in her freshman year.
The Naismith Award watch lists were revealed on Monday. Unsurprisingly, Bueckers found her name on there.
UConn announced that Bueckers, along with teammate Azzi Fudd, were named to the watch list.

The sensational Bueckers is one of the biggest stars in women’s basketball. Her being in college hasn’t deterred her starpower, as she was seen all over the place this past offseason. She’s proven her worth on the court as well and will lead a UConn team with championship aspirations again in Storrs.
Other big names like Juju Watkins at Southern California will try and challenge Bueckers and the Huskies this year. In a top-flight nonconference matchup, we’ll see Watkins and USC against Bueckers and UConn this season. That’s expected to be one of the biggest games of the college basketball regular season.
