The college football world learned that another quarterback decided to retire this week. After Grayson McCall hung it up following a series of concussions, Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle did the very same thing on Monday.

Tuttle announced his departure from the game of football in a lengthy social media post.

“Today, I am announcing my retirement from college football,” Tuttle said. “This decision, though difficult, comes after deep reflection and heartfelt conversations with my family, doctors, and loved ones.”

Tuttle spoke about his challenging year amid UCL surgery and a serious fifth concussion. The Michigan quarterback simply couldn’t endure it anymore, and few could blame him, if anyone, for making this decision.

“I am immeasurably thankful for every chance I’ve had to step onto the field, and for the unwavering support of those who have stood by me through triumphs and tribulations. I want to thank Coach Moore, the staff, and my teammates — I love all of you guys,” Tuttle wrote.

“Though closing this chapter is unfortunate, my passion for football will always be a part of me. I am committed to finding a different role in the game and plan to pursue a role in coaching,” he announced.

Many wished Tuttle the best in his future away from football after the Wolverines quarterback made this announcement.
