While they didn’t play this weekend, everything worked out well for the Colorado Buffaloes. Deion Sanders’s group enjoyed the bye week and watched the rest of the conference fall into place so they could potentially seize the moment.

Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt outlined that on Monday’s episode of The Joel Klatt Show. Klatt explained that the Big 12 Championship Game might be at their doorstep, and so could a berth in the College Football Playoff.

“There is a fanbase out there, though; they didn’t even get a chance to see a game. They didn’t get to see their team play, and yet, their season got real in a hurry. And I’m talking about Colorado,” Klatt said. “Everything that Colorado could have hoped for on Saturday happened.”

Klatt brought up Iowa State and Kansas State’s losses, which led the Buffaloes to a tie for second in the Big 12 Championship.

The Fox analyst pointed out that another Iowa State slip-up, with Kansas State still on the schedule, would eventually lead to Colorado potentially jumping into the title game if they can win out. As Klatt explained, they would then play against BYU in a game that would send the winner to the playoff.

Klatt said that this would be a monumental moment considering the program that Sanders took over last year.

“What could happen over the next four weeks. I think we could be entering into a second Colorado Mania,” Klatt argued. “We might be entering into a second one into the next four weeks and that fanbase is certainly going to be thrilled.”

Time will tell to see what happens, but Colorado fans will be rooting against Iowa State the rest of the way now.
