The No. 1 Texas Longhorns continue to hum along. Despite Quinn Ewers’ brief absence, the Longhorns have remained steady. It helped to have Arch Manning as Ewers’ understudy, but the story remains the same. However, head coach Steve Sarkisian isn’t as past the issue as he may have thought.

During media availability this week, Sarkisian fielded questions as he usually does. But one question about Arch appeared to irritate the Longhorns head coach.

Texas reporter Anwar Richardson noted on X, “Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian was asked by a reporter what he would need to see to make an in-game switch at quarterback.”

Sarkisian, per Richardson, responded bluntly. “I’m not even going to answer that. I don’t know what the question is. Next question.”

Texas’s best course of action is to continue on with Ewers, so refusing to entertain questions about that makes sense. Sarkisian didn’t say anything disrespectful. He just doesn’t want to hear it, and at this point, he’s earned the right not to entertain that thought, especially since the team is locked in.

Texas will play Georgia in a huge SEC matchup this weekend between two heavyweights in the conference.
