The Army Knights and Navy Midshipmen are both undefeated in mid-October. It’s not often in modern college football that you see that occur this late in the season, but here we are in 2024. On Wednesday, Army coach Jeff Monken decided to get the rivalry going early.
Monken took quite a shot at the Navy program during Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
Monken went so far as to ask if they even still played football at Navy.

“Do they still have a football program?” Monken asked about the Midshipmen and whether or not they had considered potentially playing them twice this year. But it doesn’t sound like they’re their focus. Or, they are, and they’re just chirping.
The Army-Navy rivalry is one of the most historic in college football. They’ve played 120 times in their history, making it one of the longest-standing rivalries and greatest traditions.
With both teams continuing, the stakes could be pretty high for the annual Army-Navy game. We’ll have to wait until December to see how that plays out, but as of right now, we could be bracing for something really cool.
