After the Auburn Tigers lost their SEC opener 24-14 to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, head coach Hugh Freeze blamed quarterbacks Hank Brown and Payton Thorne, who combined for four interceptions in the loss.
Freeze discussed the need to ‘find a guy who won’t throw the ball to the other team’ despite both Thorne and Brown being guys he ‘found’, as the second-year head coach recruited both to Auburn.
Shortly after the comments, Bo Wallace, who played quarterback for Freeze from 2012-14 with the Ole Miss Rebels took to his X account to blast the 54-year-old head coach.
We’re approaching the point that he’s thrown so many QBs under the bus , that maybe no one wants to play for him?? His offense helped me tremendously put numbers up when I blew my shoulder out…. But why is it someone else’s fault every time there’s a loss ?? … but when there’s… https://t.co/ADJoR1BzYJ

Wallace posted multiple times about Freeze on the app following Saturday’s loss, but his initial post pointed out Freeze constantly throwing his quarterbacks under the bus, which he did yet again Saturday to Brown and Thorne.
“That dude has never helped me a day in his life…. It was always only about getting a win for him so he could collect his extra 100 racks a win,” Wallace added regarding his former coach.
In the past, Wallace had previously praised Freeze as a coach and play-caller, but it appears that Freeze’s Saturday night outburst was the last straw for the quarterback.
