Maryland Terrapins quarterback Cameron Edge will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Edge will likely seek more playing time and a change of scenery with this decision. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported the move on Monday.

“Maryland QB Cameron Edge plans to enter the transfer portal,” Zenitz wrote.

Edge hasn’t gotten too much playing time since he arrived to College Park. In two seasons, he’s played in four career games and has gone 11 for 17 with 167 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

As Zenitz wrote, he played well during the Music City Bowl against Auburn, a game Maryland won and a game he also threw a touchdown pass in. He hasn’t appeared in a Terps game since the team’s win over Villanova on September 21. He also starred in their win over UConn, where he threw a touchdown in the team’s season opener.

There’s no telling where Edge might land, but this is the time of year where these moves start to happen. We’ve already seen several moves of similar kinds being made around the country from top programs. Now it will prove interesting to see if any other high-caliber players move from their current scene.

Time will tell to see if this is just the start.
