The Nebraska Cornhuskers missed an opportunity to qualify for their first bowl game since the 2016 season Saturday when they lost 27-20 to the UCLA Bruins.

Making things worse for the Cornhuskers was when freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola left the game in the fourth quarter with a back injury. The freshman phenom didn’t return. leading to concerns about his availability going forward.

On Monday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel put those concerns to rest by reporting that Raiola will be set to return after Nebraska’s bye week for the team’s November 16 game against the USC Trojans.

“Sources: Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola is expected to be healthy to return for Nebraska’s next game, which is at USC on Nov. 16. The scans on Raiola’s back issue came back clear after he left the UCLA game in the fourth quarter on Saturday,” Thamel said in his post.

Raiola went 14-for-27 for 177 yards and a touchdown and interception before the injury, which came on a big hit in the fourth quarter. Backup Heinrich Haarberg finished the game for the Cornhuskers.
