The top-ranked Oregon Ducks hit the road this weekend. The Big Ten-leading Ducks will play the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Oregon and Wisconsin have a celebrated history with each other. The two programs have met in two Rose Bowls this century, each dramatically won by the Ducks.
It’ll be a bit different on Saturday. Camp Randall Stadium will host the game instead of the illustrious Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Ducks linebacker Jestin Jacobs recognized what Wisconsin brings to the table during media availability on Tuesday. Jacobs complimented Wisconsin for their style of play, but said that Oregon is “looking forward” to the physicality that will come in Madison.
“I mean, they still have that style,” Jacobs said via 247Sports. The Oregon linebacker praised the team’s effort and makeup in their play. Senior running back Tawee Walker might not be the prolific running back of Wisconsin yesteryear, but he’s still played very well. He’s scored 10 touchdowns to date this season on 676 yards.
The Ducks star added that the physicality and the way they played is a desire and not a deterrent.
“I mean, as a football player, that’s kind of like the matchups that you want,” he explained. You want the physical matchups. You want to see who goes in there and performs no matter what.
“We’re definitely ready for physicality,” Jacobs proclaimed. “It’s definitely something that we pride ourselves on and look forward to it.”
No. 1 Oregon will play the Badgers at 7 p.m. Eastern this weekend on NBC.
