Billy Napier and the Florida Gators earned a huge recruiting victory over the weekend.
Four-star wide receiver Nae’Shaun Montgomery of the Class of 2025 committed to the Gators. The talented wide receiver from the Sunshine State elected to go to UF over several other top southeastern schools.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported the news of Montgomery’s commitment to the Gators.

Montgomery committed to Florida over rival LSU as well as Penn State. So this is a pretty big recruiting victory for Florida over two schools with known pedigrees at wide receiver. The Gators have typically had successful wide receivers too, but perhaps not to that degree. Not LSU at least, who’ve sent some of the best receivers in the current generation to the NFL.
Florida still has some work to do with its 2025 recruiting class. On a national scale, though, the Gators rank as one of the top schools in the nation. They rank 19th in the current 2025 rankings, although that is down from where they were previously. UF also ranks 10th in the SEC recruiting rankings.
