Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide took care of business in their late-season showdown with the Mercer Bears on Saturday, coming away with a 52-7 victory.

It was straightforward and procedural as Alabama’s annual November cupcake game tends to be. The Tide scored the game’s first 28 points and never looked back.

It wasn’t all good news for Alabama this weekend, though.

On Sunday, ESPN reported that 2025 four-star running back Anthony Rogers would be de-committing from the Tide and plans to announce his new school when the early signing period opens on December 4.

“It was getting close to signing day and I just wanted to make sure I’m making the best decision for me on where I’ll be at for the next three or four years. I’m looking for a place with a good environment, good coaching staff. Somewhere that I’ll fit in before I go to the NFL,” Rogers told ESPN.

The Montgomery, Alabama native originally committed to the Tide in 2023, while Nick Saban was still the head coach. He visited Ohio State and Georgia earlier this season, and one of those two schools is expected to land the running back, though he did tell ESPN that Auburn and Ole Miss are also in the hunt.

Alabama’s recruiting week has been tough. Early last week, they lost five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham to Ole Miss.
